Protein Creme Brûlée



  • 2x scoops of 1up Nutrition Coconut Ice-Cream Whey Protein (mixed with 1 cup of water)
  • 2x teaspoons of gelatine crystals
  • 1/2 a cup of boiling water
  • 2x egg yolks
  • 1/2 a cup of low fat ready-made custard
  • 2x teaspoons of sugar




  1. Preheat your oven to 160C (320F)
  2. Fill your kettle and bring to the boil
  3. Mix the gelatine crystals with the boiling water until all the crystals are dissolved
  4. Mix in the custard and stir well
  5. Add the mixed protein mix to the gelatine mix and stir well
  6. Mix in the egg yolks and whisk gently with a fork
  7. Divide evenly into 2 small ramekins and place in your pre-heated oven for about 20mins (or until only slightly wobbly on top)
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool at room temperature
  9. Once cool, sprinkle with the sugar (1 teaspoon on each) and place under the grill in your oven for about 5mins or until the tops are golden and brown (I used the grill because I dont have a torch to burn the sugar)
  10. Enjoy!
